Form Frustration, We’ll Make It Easy

The thing we all hate about going anywhere are the endless official forms we have to fill in. This is the worst when you have a family and need to do it for every one. Form Frustration is more common than you may think.

We hate it too but since we are specialist we have the whole routine down pat.

Indonesian Visa Service has a host of experts that know exactly how to fill in all the forms needed for visas, residency, company registration and virtually everything you will need to process your papers before you even get to the airport.

The secret here is that we also know what information to provide and what is not necessary. Indonesian bureaucracy is a world class organisation that must have a whole department dedicated to making forms virtually impossible to understand. And, of course, a lot of them are in Indonesian which adds to the problem.

What you will need to fill in by yourself is the e-customs form that you need to fill-in and submit at both immigration and at the customs desk.  Now you have options. You will have to fill this in, however, you can do it in advance, or you can wait and ry to do it just infant of the immigration desk where there are limited numbers of computers, lots of people milling around and very few officials there to help you. Just exactly what you want after an endless flight and the kids are tired and you all want to get to the hotel.

It is in English and the instructions are actually remarkably clear – must have been a good day for the IT staff .  Fill in the form for each passport and make sure you tick all the boxes and toggle all the switches that are relevant and then you are good to go.

It is really important that you do this as it saves time and frustration. The last time I arrived in Bali, 16 hour flight from Washington DC to Japan and a further 9 hour from Japan to Bali – I actually thought I was never going to get home. Then I had to fill out this form at the immigration hall where I could hardly stand and barely see……..  Please don’t do this to yourself.

We will do all he work we can for you and make sure everything is in the right place. However, Please understand, we can only fill in and provide the authorities with the information you provide. It is imperative that you provide true and correct information, all the information that is required and that you check everything we send back to make sure that the information is true and correct before your sign it.

These are, just like at home, legal declarations and you are held responsible for their accuracy and veracity. Immigration here is one of the more efficient departments and they have very accurate and very good systems in place to check the background at various levels of the information that is provided. They also know who is in the country and who has overstayed.

BE AWARE THAT OVERSTAYING IN THE COUNTRY HAS A PENALTY OF OF ABOUT $185 PER DAY.
